Not only were two shipping containers integrated into the design of this house in the Jerusalem area, but two mature trees were.
As you can see in the floor plan below, the trees flank one of the containers. Shade from the trees, plus the addition of a roof and wood siding, provide a thermal buffer, helping to shield the metal containers from excessive solar heat gain.
